Mike Weidner CFP®
Partner, NWP | Wealth Advisor, RJFS
Family is a term that has always held a special place in Mike’s heart. His father, Carl, was a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch which led to his inspiration to shift careers from radio advertising to financial planning. Today, Mike’s family continues to hold a strong influence on his life – so strong, in fact, you’re more likely to see him carting his kids around town rather than carting his golf bag!
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional with his independent practice, Weidner Group LLC, Mike works closely with a select group of successful families and businesses who have a connection to Western New York. Most of his clients have worked with him over many years – they’ve become like family in his eyes! With the exceptional support of his team member Rhea Sherman, Senior Registered Client Associate, the two work together, building strong working relationships through effective listening and transparent communication.
From 30 years of experience at Wells Fargo and Merrill Lynch to his partnership with Noble, Mike’s work ethic and mindset are structured around building customized strategies influenced by goals and initiatives, not market conditions. Two specialty areas he has a knack for are tax minimization and estate planning, keeping a close eye on potential future tax law changes. Around the clock, Mike works strategically and efficiently to help his clients and their families plan for the unforeseen challenges in life.
Outside the office walls, Mike is the proud father of Adelaide, George, and twins, Lily, and Olivia. When he’s not trying to resuscitate his golf game at Cobblestone Creek Golf Course or spending time with his wife, Melanie, and children, Mike enjoys giving back to his community. Important organizations that are dear to him includes serving on the board of directors for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Rochester Chapter, and his involvement at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in his hometown of Fairport, NY.
